Electrified Door Hardware ANSI
- Allegion electrified hardware to the ANSI/BHMA A156 series: Von Duprin electric strikes and EL/QEL electrified exit devices, Schlage electrified locksets and electronic locks, power transfers, request-to-exit devices and XceedID and aptiQ credentials. Fail-safe releases on power loss, fail-secure stays locked — the choice is a life-safety decision, not a preference.
- Integrate the door with an access control system in offices, hospitals, airports and data centres, so the lock is released by a card reader while the door still latches mechanically. On escape routes the mechanical egress path must remain independent of the electronics: a card-controlled door that cannot be opened from the inside by hand when power fails is a code violation regardless of how the system is configured or what the software claims.
