Thermal Overload Relays

- Schneider TeSys Deca (formerly LRD) bimetallic thermal overload relays, which mount directly onto TeSys D contactors to form an extremely compact starter, with the LR3D range serving TeSys K. Adjustable current settings run in overlapping bands up to 80 A on the LRD frames, and protection extends to motors up to 630 A across the wider TeSys family.
- Fitted directly under the contactor in a motor starter, where the bimetallic element tracks the heating effect of the motor current and trips the control circuit before winding insulation is damaged by a sustained overload, a stalled rotor or single phasing. Used across pump, fan, compressor and conveyor starters, with a manual/automatic reset selector and a trip class matched to the motor's starting time — class 10 for normal starts, class 20 for high-inertia loads.
