- Hot-dip galvanised steel sheet and coil in Z140 to Z275 zinc coating classes and gauges suited to duct construction. Coating weight, not thickness, is what determines how long the duct resists corrosion.
- The base material for rectangular and spiral ductwork, plenums, damper frames, casings and supports. Gauge is selected from the duct's pressure class and largest dimension per SMACNA tables
- using a lighter gauge to save material is what produces the drumming and duct leakage that shows up later at commissioning.
