Rectangular attenuator

- AEROVAC rectangular duct silencers with acoustically absorbent splitters behind perforated galvanised sheet, tested by Intertek to ASTM E477, in dissipative and film-lined hygienic construction. Published data gives insertion loss per octave band together with self-generated noise and pressure drop.
- Installed immediately downstream of AHU supply fans and upstream of return fans, and in car park and kitchen extract ducts where the fan discharges near occupied space. Selection has to balance three things at once — attenuation, pressure drop and regenerated noise — because a silencer chosen only on insertion loss can end up being the loudest item in the duct.
