Suspended Vibration Isolation
- Kinetics hanger isolators in three families: Model SFH (a laterally stable steel spring in series with a precompressed moulded fiberglass insert), Model FH (moulded inorganic fiberglass pad on a steel load transfer plate) and Model RH (neoprene). SFH covers deflections of 1.04"–2.20" (26–56 mm) and 4.05"–4.75" (104–112 mm) at capacities from 35 to 3,850 lb
- all three carry a 500% overload without failure and allow the support rod to swing through a 30° arc.
- Used on suspended fan coil units, inline fans, ductwork close to a fan discharge, and the first three hangers of any pipe run leaving a pump. FH is the choice in high-temperature ceiling voids where a spring is not wanted. The commonest field failure is a hanger rod touching the box: the 30° arc exists precisely to prevent that metal-to-metal short circuit, because once it happens the isolator is rigid and every reading taken afterwards measures the structure.
