Power & Control cables (600/1000) V
About
- XLPE or PVC insulated power cables for rated voltages up to 1 kV armored or non-armored .
- They are well adapted to underground use in industrial applications with an additional mechanical protection.
Application
XLPE or PVC insulated power cables for rated voltages of 1 kV (Um = 1,2 kV) is used to transmit power on the power transmission and distribution line of A.C.50Hz, rated voltage 1kV or below. They are well adapted to underground use in industrial applications with an additional mechanical protection. These cables can be fixed on cable trays, within conduits or fixed to walls, High strength, Large current carrying capacity, Good catenary property and wear-resistance, Anti-crush and corrosion-proof with simple structure.
Standards & Reference 9 cited
IEC 60502-1
The construction and testing rules for extruded-insulation power cables rated up to 1 kV. It is the baseline a low-voltage power cable is built to before any fire or environmental rating is added on top.
BS 5467
British specification for armoured XLPE-insulated power cables at 600/1000 V and 1900/3300 V. The armoured cable most often called for in UK-specified projects.
BS 6724
The low-smoke, zero-halogen counterpart to BS 5467: the same armoured power cable, sheathed so that it does not fill an escape route with corrosive smoke.
BS 6387
Three separate survival tests for a cable that must keep working in a fire, graded as categories C, W and Z: fire alone, fire with water, and fire with mechanical shock. CWZ is the highest grade.
