Floor-Mounted Vibration Isolators
- Kinetics Model FLS and FLSS restrained spring isolators — free-standing, large-diameter, laterally stable steel springs in a welded steel housing that limits vertical travel if the equipment load drops or an external uplift force is applied. Standard products reach 4" (102 mm) static deflection and 23,200 lb (10,524 kg) capacity, with a neoprene acoustic pad in series with the spring
- Model FMS combines the restraint and the isolator in one modular unit.
- Placed under chillers, pumps, air handling units, generators and cooling towers standing on structural slabs, particularly above occupied space or on long-span floors where the deflection has to compensate for a flexible structure. The restrained housing matters on equipment whose weight changes in service — cooling towers when drained, AHUs when a fan is removed — because an unrestrained spring unloads and lifts the unit off its intended level.
