Security & Audio Control Cables
About
- Suitable for Building Management Systems (BMS), ACS, Sound, Audio, Security, Safety, Control and Instrumentation. Bare copper, Tinned copper, individually shielded , with PVC sheath or LSZH sheath.
Application
Used for signal wiring across building management systems (BMS), access control, CCTV, public address and sound systems, intruder alarm and safety circuits, and low-energy control and instrumentation loops. Individual pair shielding keeps low-level audio and data signals clear of interference from power cabling running in the same containment, while the LSZH sheath version is specified for escape routes and enclosed public areas where smoke and halogen emission are restricted.
Standards & Reference 7 cited
BS EN 50290-2
Common design and construction rules for communication cables: the materials and build quality expected of data, signal and instrumentation cable.
IEC 60332-1
Flame propagation on a single vertical cable. It shows the cable will not carry a fire along its own length, which is the minimum expected of any cable in an occupied building.
IEC 60332-3-24
Flame spread on a bundle of cables in a vertical tray, Category C. A cable can pass the single-cable test and still spread fire when hundreds are bunched in a riser, which is what this addresses.
IEC 61034
Smoke density from a burning cable, measured in a sealed chamber. Low smoke is an evacuation requirement: people leave a building by sight.
IEC 60754
How much halogen acid gas the cable gives off when it burns. Halogen-free matters where people or sensitive equipment share the space with the cable.
ROHS COMPLIANT
Made within the restrictions on lead, mercury, cadmium and the other hazardous substances the EU limits in electrical equipment.
