About

  • Kinetics floating floor systems: the FLM lift-slab floor mount (a 4" reinforced concrete slab on FLM isolators with KIP pads over a 2" air space above the structural slab), the RIM roll-out isolation material creating a 1"-4" airspace under a wood floated deck, and ISOLayment QT recycled rubber underlayments. KIP isolators are spaced at 12, 16 or 24 inches on centre and selected by density.

Application

FLM is specified for intense impact noise in gyms, weight rooms, bowling alleys and sensitive instrumentation spaces

RIM wood floated floors suit dance studios, recording studios and loft conversions where a lower profile and lighter assembly are needed. The detail that decides the result is always the perimeter, any rigid contact between the floating deck and the surrounding wall, or a service penetration, flanks straight around the isolation.
