- Fire alarm cables work under high temperature up to 105 °C to transmit signals to notification (indicating) device circuits such as alarm sounders, horns, strobes and other remote signalling equipment. FPLR shielded fire alarm cable features two insulated copper conductors and a layer of aluminium foil shielding, which protects the signal from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) — the reason a shielded type is specified wherever the alarm cable shares containment with power cabling.
