Roof-mounted centrifugal and axial fans with upblast or downblast discharge, on a matching curb with a backdraught damper and a hinged base for service. Upblast versions throw the discharge clear of the roof surface and are the required arrangement for grease-laden exhaust, where UL 762 listing applies
the TCVA vaneaxial also makes an upblast roof unit.

Used for toilet, kitchen and general building exhaust discharged at roof level, keeping the fan out of the plant room and the noise off the occupied floors. Discharge position matters as much as the fan itself: an exhaust outlet placed upwind of a fresh air intake re-entrains its own contaminated air, a design fault that no filter downstream can correct and that only shows up once the building is occupied.
