Utility fans
About
- Twin City utility sets in a compact scroll housing: Model DCV direct drive backward inclined (10.5"-20" wheels, to 8,200 CFM, 2.5" w.g.), Model BCV belt driven backward inclined (10.5"-60", to 78,660 CFM, 8" w.g.), Model BAV airfoil (12.25"-36.5", to 32,100 CFM, 8" w.g.), and forward-curved Models DDF and FCV. Model BCVR is rated to 300 °F for restaurant exhaust
- Model BCVSH is rated 500 °F for 4 hours and 1000 °F for 15 minutes for emergency smoke control.
Application
Applied to general exhaust and supply in commercial and light industrial buildings, toilet extract risers, process exhaust, boiler room ventilation and make-up air. They cover the gap between a simple axial fan and a full cabinet fan, where duct resistance is real but a lined cabinet is not warranted
the BCVR and BCVSH variants let the same body serve kitchen and smoke duties without changing fan family.
Standards & Reference 8 cited
AMCA 210
The laboratory method for testing fan aerodynamic performance: airflow, pressure, power and efficiency. A fan curve that is not tested to this is not comparable with one that is.
AMCA 211
The certified aerodynamic ratings programme: the equivalent independent verification for a published fan performance curve.
AMCA 300
The reverberant room method for measuring the sound a fan emits. The source of the sound power figures used in an acoustic calculation.
AMCA 311
The certified sound ratings programme: independent verification that a published sound rating is what the fan actually produces.
ISO 5801
The international method for testing industrial fan performance using standardised airways. It is the ISO counterpart to AMCA 210.
UL 705
Power ventilators: the safety listing for powered fans in North American specifications.
UL 762
Power roof ventilators for restaurant exhaust: the listing required of a kitchen extract fan handling grease-laden air.
