About

  • Twin City Model TCVA AXIFAN vaneaxial fans, with a one-piece impeller cast from high-strength aluminium alloy and stationary straightening guide vanes on the discharge side that recover swirl, raising efficiency and static pressure capability while reducing noise. Airflow to 103,000 CFM (175,000 m³/h) and static pressure to 7" w.g. (1,740 Pa), in Arrangement 4 direct drive and Arrangement 9 belt drive, with nine hub-to-tip ratios
  • Model TCVX adds adjustable blades.

Application

The workhorse for car park, tunnel and corridor ventilation, dishwasher and elevator shaft exhaust, stairwell pressurisation and emergency smoke exhaust. High-temperature construction to 250 °F and spark-resistant construction per AMCA Standard 99-0401 are available

where the same fan is part of the smoke strategy an EN 12101-3 certified version is required, because a standard axial fan is not a smoke extract fan.

Standards & Reference 8 cited

  • AMCA 210

The laboratory method for testing fan aerodynamic performance: airflow, pressure, power and efficiency. A fan curve that is not tested to this is not comparable with one that is.

  • AMCA 211

The certified aerodynamic ratings programme: the equivalent independent verification for a published fan performance curve.

  • AMCA 300

The reverberant room method for measuring the sound a fan emits. The source of the sound power figures used in an acoustic calculation.

  • AMCA 311

The certified sound ratings programme: independent verification that a published sound rating is what the fan actually produces.

  • AMCA 99-0401

The fan construction classes within the AMCA handbook, setting what a fan can be run at structurally.

  • ISO 5801

The international method for testing industrial fan performance using standardised airways. It is the ISO counterpart to AMCA 210.

  • UL 705

Power ventilators: the safety listing for powered fans in North American specifications.

  • EN 12101-3

Powered smoke and heat exhaust ventilators: the fans that must keep running in hot smoke.
