Absorption is published as an NRC and as octave-band coefficients, so the specifier can target the frequencies actually causing the problem rather than buying a single headline number.
- Used in auditoria, mosques, lecture halls, open-plan offices, restaurants and atria — anywhere hard glass, stone and plasterboard surfaces make a room loud rather than merely noisy. Class A rated products with a Class 1 flame spread rating are required in escape routes and assembly occupancies, which usually decides the facing material before the acoustic target does.
